Meet the chefs behind the flavors at this year's Annual Meeting!

We're bringing together some of the Bay Area's most talented culinary minds to create an unforgettable dining experience. From Chef Joseph Paire of Limewood, known for his award-winning California-inspired cuisine, to Top Chef alum Chef Nelson German of alaMar, whose Dominican roots and Afro-Latino influences have made him one of Oakland's most celebrated chefs, every dish tells a story.

Joining them are Chef Nattaporn Pinpech of Payakk, bringing the bold and authentic flavors of Thailand; Chef and Owner Pierre Slack of Black Forest Kitchen, showcasing modern takes on German street food; Chef Michelle McQueen of Town Fare Café, whose soulful cuisine celebrates Oakland's culture, community, and rich culinary traditions; and renowned culinary duo Ryan Pollnow and Thomas McNaughton, Co-Executive Chefs and founders of Flour + Water, celebrated for their innovative approach to Italian cuisine and commitment to craftsmanship.

Join us as we celebrate Oakland's leaders, businesses, and community champions at the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce's 121st Annual Meeting & Awards Celebration on June 24 at Children's Fairyland!

This year's theme, Oakland First, honors the resilience, innovation, and community spirit that continue to shape our city and drive its future.

We're proud to recognize our 2026 award recipients:
Community Catalyst Award – East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation (EBALDC)
Heart of Oakland Award – Town Love Box
Oakland on the Map Award – McGuire and Hester, celebrating 100 years of business and impact

Behind the Scenes: Celebrating Oakland’s Best

Earlier this year, we asked our community to help us recognize the businesses, organizations, and leaders who make Oakland such a vibrant and resilient place to live, work, and do business. Through nominations across three award categories, community members shared inspiring stories of impact, innovation, and dedication from individuals and businesses that embody the spirit of Oakland.

At this year’s Annual Meeting, we will proudly honor the winners selected from those nominations and celebrate the incredible contributions they make to our city every day.

Today, we're excited to give you a behind-the-scenes look at the first of our award recipients. The Oakland Metro Chamber is honored to present the Heart of Oakland Award to Kim Bardakian and Nicole Vasgerdsian, founders of Town Love Box.

Through Town Love, Kim has built more than a business; she has created a movement that uplifts Oakland’s small businesses, strengthens community connections, and encourages all of us to invest in the people and places that make our city special. We’re excited to announce that the legendary Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir will be performing at this year’s Oakland Metro Chamber Annual Meeting!

Every year, the Oakland Metro Chamber looks for ways to make our Annual Meeting a little more memorable and a little more Oakland.
