The city utility crew has awakened the lion from his winter slumber -- the water is now flowing for the summer season!

The Lion Water Fountain has been shut off for the winter -- gotta take care of the new plumbing -- but you can still stop and admire how wonderful he looks!

WCIA (Channel 3) came to Oakland today to do a story on Oakland's Lion Water Fountain. It should air on their "ciLiving" show during "animal week," sometime the week of Nov. 7. When I hear a more specific date, I'll let you know!

Oakland's Lion Water Fountain has new paint, and he looks awesome!!! Sam Carr (pictured) spent about 10 hours working on it this week. He did a great job!

Lions Club member Larry Carter has started repairing the Lion's broken foot. He worked on it from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today, and he'll go back to finish the job after today's work has had a couple of days to dry. Thanks, Larry!
