Did you know that cilantro, parsley, dill, mint, and other tender herbs can be stored in the refrigerator much like cut flowers? Instead of getting slimy and wilted within days, they can last over a week! Before storing, remove any wilted leaves and trim the stems. Then, place them in a jar with 1–2 inches of water, keeping the leaves above the water line, and loosely cover them with a plastic bag. If space is limited, prep the herbs in the same way, but instead wrap them loosely in a damp cloth and place them in a sealed bag or container in the fridge for a similar effect.

Berries are delicate and can spoil quickly, so proper storage makes a big difference. Start by removing any moldy, bruised, or damaged berries—set these aside and depending on their state, compost or wash and eat them right away. Then place the remaining unwashed berries in a sealable container, layered between clean, dry paper or cloth. This helps absorb excess moisture that could cause mold and keeps your berries fresh for longer!
