On Saturday, September 19th, you can celebrate by using your library card to access many of Maine's state parks free of charge! Simply show your Maine library card at the entrance to any participating Maine state park and enjoy a day of hiking, picnicking or reading in Maine's beautiful state parks.

If you don't have a library card, stop by your local library to get your library card, and open the door to books, audiobooks and DVDs, programs and events, digital resources and more. The free admission does not apply to: • Acadia National Park • Allagash Wilderness Waterway • Baxter State Park • Maine Wildlife Park • Peacock Beach • Scarborough Beach • Swan Island • Penobscot River Corridor • Penobscot Narrows Observatory in Prospect.

The leaves are starting to change, and the weather is getting colder. Fall is just around the corner, so it's time to start thinking about the Rec Departments annual Trunk or Treat!

If you would like to lend a hand (or a trunk) and participate as a business or a community member, please come into the town office, email [email protected], or call (207) 465-7357 to reserve your spot.

Please provide: Name (business or personal), phone number, email, and vehicle make/model/color when you register.

There will be a prize for the best decorated trunk, so let's get creative and fun! Help us celebrate the spookiest time of the year and sign up now!
