Today, I passed my first bill -- HB 1031: Customer Service Callback Queues -- off the the House Floor. This bill aims to provide all Florida constituents who call our various state departments, eg. Commerce, Children and Families, etc., with a quality level of customer service by providing an option to be called back instead of waiting on hold for long periods of time.

While in Tallahassee, I am also preparing a District 98 Florida Licensing On Wheels (FLOW) event in Oakland Park this May. The event brings in the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles to offer DMV services for constituents who have difficulty attaining an appointment at a local DMV office. I recently signed a letter opposing The Florida Department of Education's vote to adopt a conservative think tank's curriculum and teaching plans. Florida's public education system belongs to the people of Florida, not right wing think tanks.

Please see Food Resource list for House District 98. I signed onto a letter from the leadership of the Florida Legislature's Democratic Party urging the Governor to do the right thing and use his emergency powers to fund SNAP in Florida. We hope he will.
