The Boys and Girls Club of Oak Ridge serves students after school daily as well as offering sports programs year round.

One of the best parts of the Boys & Girls Club is giving kids the opportunity to discover who they are.

Today's Summer Camp Talent Show wasn't about being perfect. Instead, it was about having the confidence to stand in front of friends, share a talent, and celebrate one another. Every performance was met with applause, encouragement, and smiles, creating an environment where our youth felt safe to be themselves.

We couldn't be more proud of the amazing talent, creativity, and heart that fills our Club every day.

A special thank you to Rose Weaver for spending time with our Club members and sharing such a powerful piece of Oak Ridge history.

Our kids had the opportunity to learn about the courage, resilience, and strength of the Scarboro 85 from someone who has dedicated herself to preserving and sharing their story. It was incredible to watch our youth listen, ask questions, and soak up the knowledge she shared.

One of the highlights was hearing Rose connect the legacy of the Scarboro 85 to present-day leaders like Jada Guinn, a Club kid who has gone on to play professional basketball. Just two weeks after Jada visited our Club to mentor and teach basketball skills, our members learned how different generations of Oak Ridge trailblazers are connected by courage, determination, and a commitment to making a difference.

Thank you, Rose, for helping inspire the next generation and reminding us all that history is not just something we learn...it's something we carry forward.

Thankful for the folks at ASAP of Anderson for coming out to summer camp to talk with our kids. Not only was their visit educational, but they also kept kids of all ages engaged with a variety of fun activities and contests.

Congratulations to our 2026 Boys & Girls Club of Oak Ridge Memorial Scholarship recipients!
This year, we are proud to recognize (left to right) Tyree Porter, Anaiya Heyward-Tharpe, and Crawford Webb as recipients of the David Hahn, Kevin Hurt, Charles Burger, Jim Vines, Charles Kennedy, and Mike Anderson Memorial Scholarships.

Tyree Porter will attend Tennessee State University, where he will compete in track and field while pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Already ahead of the game, Tyree has completed the Roane State Community College Middle College Program and is preparing for a future where he can make a lasting impact through innovation and problem-solving.

Anaiya Heyward-Tharpe is headed to Tennessee State University to major in Nursing with a minor in Mathematics. During her time at Oak Ridge High School, Anaiya excelled as a basketball and volleyball player and consistently gave back to younger athletes by volunteering with our basketball program and helping at games throughout the season.

Crawford Webb will attend Nashville Auto-Diesel College as he works toward becoming a Level 3 Technician. A familiar face around the Club, Crawford has volunteered with us for years, most recently helping during basketball season. He hopes to one day return and encourage younger Club members by showing them that success can be achieved through many paths, including the skilled trades.

All three recipients grew up as Club members, and each has demonstrated a commitment to hard work, service, and personal growth. Please join us in congratulating these outstanding young people as they begin the next chapter of their journeys. We are incredibly proud of them and can't wait to see all they accomplish in the years ahead!

Today was a special day at the Boys & Girls Club of Oak Ridge.

Conference Champion, MVP, and professional basketball player Jada Guinn spent the afternoon giving back to the place where her own journey began. Long before she was competing at the highest levels of the game, Jada was a Club kid right here in Oak Ridge, participating in activities, building friendships, and creating memories just like the young people we serve today.

For nearly two hours, she poured into our members, working with kids of all ages and skill levels, teaching basketball fundamentals, sharing encouragement, and reminding them that no dream is too big.

Moments like these are powerful because they show our kids what's possible. When they see someone who started in the very place they're at, it makes their own goals feel a little more attainable.

Thank you, Jada, for taking the time to invest in the next generation and for never forgetting where you came from.

Want to learn from Jada yourself? Be sure to check out her basketball camp on June 27 at the Oak Ridge Civic Center. It's going to be a great learning opportunity for young athletes in our community!

2026 Lawrence Hahn Golf Tournament! ⛳️

From great golf and friendly competition to laughter, fellowship, and plenty of memorable moments, this event once again showed what can happen when a community comes together for a great cause.

Thanks to the support of our players, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters, we’re able to continue creating opportunities and experiences for the young people we serve at the Boys & Girls Club.

Thank you to everyone who spent the day with us and helped make this year’s tournament such a success. Be sure to check out some of the highlights from the day below!
