🔨✨ The future of workforce development is taking shape in East Tennessee!
Yesterday, our team had the opportunity to tour the nearly completed new Tennessee College of Applied Technology Harriman campus, and we walked away inspired.
This state-of-the-art, 88,000-square-foot facility is a major investment in student success, workforce development, and the future of our region.
A special thank you to President Chris Ayers and VP of Academic Affairs Angela Richardson for providing a behind-the-scenes look at the vision behind this remarkable project. From innovative learning spaces and high-tech labs to thoughtful design elements that foster engagement and collaboration, every detail has been intentionally crafted to support student achievement.
As a leading trades and technical education institution, TCAT prepares students for high-demand careers in welding, advanced manufacturing, automotive technology, nursing, cosmetology, and more. What makes this campus especially unique is its partnership with the neighboring Roane State Community College Harriman campus, creating expanded opportunities for students to connect technical training with academic pathways, credentials, and shared resources.
With hundreds of graduates entering the workforce each year—including nearly 300 welding graduates last year alone—TCAT Harriman continues to play a vital role in building the skilled workforce our businesses and industries depend on.
We are grateful for the opportunity to see firsthand how TCAT Harriman is strengthening the talent pipeline that will support East Tennessee for years to come.
