Last Thursday, our Chamber Ambassadors had the opportunity to step behind the scenes at M&M Productions USA, located at 715 Emory Valley Rd.

From touring their recording studio and warehouse to sharing more about the many services they offer — including graphic design, script writing, AV production, event design, and more — it was a great opportunity to learn about the innovation, talent, and core values that have made this small business a leader in the event and production industry.

We especially enjoyed hearing from owner Mike Brown, whose entrepreneurial journey began as a small-town DJ side hustle and has since grown into a nationally recognized company. Their story is a powerful reminder of what vision, hard work, and community support can build.

A huge thank you to the M&M team for hosting our group, surprising us with new headshots, and sharing more about the impressive work they do. We are grateful for their continued partnership as a Millennium Partner and for the role they play in helping make our Annual Awards Gala such a memorable experience for our guests.

Last week, our team had the opportunity to tour the historic Alex Haley Farm in Clinton, Tennessee — and what an inspiring hidden gem we have right here in our own backyard!

Operated by the Children’s Defense Fund, the farm serves as a peaceful retreat for creativity, inspiration, reflection, and leadership development. Whether you’re a writer, artist, ministerial leader, child advocate, history enthusiast, or simply looking for a quiet place to recharge, this space has so much to offer.

We enjoyed learning more about the incredible legacy of Alex Haley — author of Roots and The Autobiography of Malcolm X. During his time serving in the U.S. Coast Guard, Haley became known for helping fellow servicemen write letters home, developing the storytelling skills that would later shape history through his writing and interviews.

The property features the beautiful Langston Hughes Library, inspiring African art donated by Maria Nhambu, overnight accommodations for retreats, and a unique ark-shaped venue space perfect for gatherings, workshops, and meaningful conversations.

A special thank you to our tour guide, Ken, for sharing the rich history and mission. We’re grateful for the opportunity to learn more about this remarkable resource in our community.
