Great job!

On the afternoon of May 24, 2026, San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a possible rooster fighting operation near Kettleman Lane and Highway 12 in Lodi.

Using the Sheriff’s Office UAS, deputies located more than 150 vehicles gathered in an orchard. As deputies arrived, many vehicles fled the area.

Deputies located 18 live roosters, including several confined inside a locked vehicle. Due to the animals’ welfare, forced entry was made into the vehicle. San Joaquin County Animal Services responded and took possession of the roosters.

If any of these roosters belong to you, please contact the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office.

Today kicked off the annual Rural Crime School being co-hosted by the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office and office in Stockton, CA. Huge thanks goes out to San Joaquin County Office of Emergency Services, and many more for your support and contributions to make this years school a success. Thank you to all of our instructors and board members who volunteered to kick off this years school!
