The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has released the Proposed Plan for Operable Unit 2 (OU-2) of the Shaffer Equipment/Arbuckle Creek Area Superfund Site. The plan outlines EPA’s preferred cleanup method for remaining contaminated soil and sediment areas associated with the site.

EPA’s preferred cleanup plan includes:
• Excavating contaminated soil and sediment
• Transporting materials to an approved offsite disposal facility
• Backfilling excavated areas with clean fill

A public meeting will be held for community members to learn more, ask questions, and provide comments.

City of Oak Hill is Hiring: City Manager

The City of Oak Hill is now accepting applications for the position of City Manager. This position serves as the chief executive officer and head of the administration branch for the City of Oak Hill. We are looking for an experienced leader to help guide our city's programs, projects, and services!

Position Highlights:
• Compensation: The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000 and includes a benefits package.
• Qualifications: Minimum qualifications include at least five (5) years of progressively responsible managerial experience at a senior level in a governmental entity.
• Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for developing strategic plans, managing a multi-million-dollar public budget, and supervising most full-time City Departments.

At last night's City Council meeting, we were honored to welcome Senator Rollan A. Roberts, who presented the City of Oak Hill with a $40,000 Local Economic Development Act Grant! 🏙️🤝

This generous funding will allow us to develop an Economic Development Strategic Plan to drive our local economic development initiatives, helping us continue to build a vibrant and thriving community for our residents and businesses.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Senator Roberts for his dedication and continued investment in the future of Oak Hill!
