The City of Oak Hill supports the efforts of the New River Alliance of Climbers (NRAC) and what they provide for Needleseye Park. Their assistance to provide safe, updated industry standard climbing anchors, volunteer efforts towards trash removal and graffiti removal and more have already benefited Needleseye Park. Their most recent efforts was to purchase a modern titanium one wheeled stokes rescue litter to aid rescue efforts for EMS personnel within the interior of the park. Additionally the City donates $1000 annually towards the efforts and wonderful support that NRAC provides to Needleseye Park users. Thank you NRAC for your commitment! We want to inform the public that our City Park playground equipment is for children of ages 5-12 to use. We will be installing a couple of signs that will be more visible displaying this 5-12 age range. Thank you for your cooperation to keep our equipment functioning without damage.

Edit: This message is not meant to restrict children under 5 from using the playground. The playground does have suitable age appropriate equipment for all children 2-12. We encourage proper supervision for all children of any age using the equipment. Our intention is to prevent malicious behavior by older children being unsupervised, not to restrict the use of equipment by any responsible users including adults playing with there children.

With the recent Award and attention that the Park and Rec Dept recieved for Needleseye Park, we wanted to give credit to all of the Oak Hill team that made that award possible . Thank you to the current and previous City Council, the current and previous City Managers, the GiS Department, the Street Department, the Sanitary Department and a special thanks to Tommy Canaday of the Park and Rec Maintenance Department and finally to our current councilman and former City Manager, Bill Hannabass, for his vision of Needleseye as a community Park for Oak Hill in 2016. Oak Hill sits a little bit more proud with these fine folks making a difference in the community!
