North Whidbey Community Harvest The North Whidbey Community Harvest is an all-volunteer organization that provides a free Thanksgiving meal every year at the Oak Harbor Elks Lodge.

Last year we served over 4,000 people at the Elks Lodge in Oak Harbor and delivered more than 400 meals to shut-ins, store employees, hospital staff and emergency responders working through the holiday! This meal is always provided to anyone in or community at no charge, regardless of income or status, through the hard work and dedication of an all-volunteer staff. We do not request any informatio

n or payment from participants. It is an all-volunteer effort hosted in donated space. We deliver meals to people who are homebound due to age, infirmity or special needs; as well as Navy personnel, store employees and emergency response personnel working on Thanksgiving. A number to request this service is included in our advertising. We also have event volunteers assigned to provide special assistance to any attendees who are vision or mobility impaired; or to assist non-English speaking attendees.

I know many of you have been asking about our annual Thanksgiving Community Dinner. Unfortunately, we are no longer doing them. We have decided to suspend them indefinitely until further notice.

When we are ready to start again, you will be the first to know! We appreciate all the support you have given us. Wishing you all a happy, safe, and healthy Thanksgiving 🦃 🎃 🥧!

The Board of Directors for Northwest Community Harvest has regretfully come to the realization that we will be unable to host a Thanksgiving Dinner this year (2021) due to the continued COVID restrictions.

We regret to inform you that we will not be having the North Whidbey Community Harvest Thanksgiving dinner this year. Due to Covid and time restrictions, it has been hard to find a location among many other things.

We hope to make this happen next year. Please do no call the Elks. We only hold the event there. They have no information to give.

We are thankful for you, our community who has always been so supportive throughout the years! With heavy hearts, we regret to inform you that this year’s event has been canceled. Our priority is the safety of our community, volunteers, and our members who help put this event together each year. We hope to come back stronger next year and put on an amazing 2021 Thanksgiving event. If you wish to donate, we ask that any donations go to the North Whidbey Help House. This year has been hard for many families and the extra donations are greatly appreciated. We thank you and are grateful for your continuous support. May you have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day!

If you know of or have any High School students who are looking into a Culinary career, please have them go to their HS Career Counselor to apply for our scholarship. They can ask to apply for the NWCH Scholarship. Help us get those applications in!!
