Make sure it's on your calendar! Travel back to a time when windjammers sailed the Salish Sea. A transformational light in maritime history helped guide them through the treacherous waters around Whidbey Island. Learn the unique Whidbey Island story of one light, two lighthouses, and the Keepers that cared for them from the docents at the Admiralty Head Lighthouse and staff from Fort Casey State Park.

The featured artist at the library in September is Oak Harbor resident Teresa Gillespie. To create her woodcut reductions, Teresa uses a sharp tool to carve into the surface of a wooden block. After applying ink to the raised areas, Teresa creates up to 6 prints, each a little different. Her new bird series will be on display until October 1.
