PLEASE NOTE: As a reminder, the parking lot to Admiral Nimitz Hall Galley and the LIBERTY Center will be closed all day on Thursday, Sept. 17 and Friday, Sept. 18 due to an upcoming special event. The parking lot will re-open for regular traffic on Saturday, Sept. 19. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding!

On Thursday, Sept. 17, our monthly Sensory Explorers Play Group is happy to welcome a special guest! USO Northwest will be bringing a therapy dog, Hercules, for everyone to say hello to and meet! Hercules loves meeting new people and receiving pets. Not only that, but children who join the play group this month will get a chance to make their own dog mask and enjoy story time.

The Sensory Explorers Play Group is open to all and free for NAS Whidbey Island parents and their little ones. We play and explore through our different senses, engaging in activities that stimulate their curiosity and creativity. Don’t miss this special session this month from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Victory Terrace Community Center!

🌊 If you're looking for the perfect way to have fun, don't forget about Adaptive Kayaking Day coming up! The Exceptional Family Member Program has partnered with Outdoors for All to bring adaptive kayaking fun to the NAS Whidbey Island community. Trained staff will be on site to help guide participants on the water, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all. Open to ages 7 and up, this is a fantastic opportunity for families to learn while staying safe and having a good time. Don't miss out on the adventure!

The event will take place on Saturday, September 19, from noon to 4 p.m. at the beautiful Cranberry Lake in the Deception Pass State Park. Be sure to RSVP by calling 360-257-5266 to secure your spot.

For our military families, Fleet & Family Readiness is here for you every step of the way and for every development. For any families that are expecting or have recently welcomed a new member to their family, A Space for Grace is a group dedicated to connecting parents with one another in a safe space for discussion and support. Babies and children are welcome to join the space as well.

Visit the Maylor Point Community Center on Monday, Sept. 14 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. to join, or any Monday of the month at that same time.

What a game! The final score was 5 - 2, and though Army won, our Navy players did a great job facing off on the ice. It was an incredible match overall, and we’re happy to see everyone who came out to cheer the Navy on. We’re already looking forward to next year’s match!

We have GREAT NEWS! We have extra seats now available for those wanting to join us to root on the Navy Ice Hockey team at the Army vs. Navy Ice Hockey Game!

Get ready for a thrilling game on the ice at the Kraken Community Iceplex on this Saturday on September 12. We will be providing free transportation from the NASWI Fitness Center departing at 12 p.m. and departing from Liberty Center at 12:15 pm. The bus will arrive at the Kraken Iceplex at 2:30 pm; the hockey game starts at 4 pm. Afterwards, we will be leaving after the game around 5:30 pm and arriving at the NASWI Fitness Center at 8 pm and arriving at the Liberty Center at 8:15 pm.

To sign up, visit the Fitness Center front desk or call 360-257-2420. Open to all MWR-eligible patrons. Availability is on a first come, first serve basis, so please reserve your spot as soon as possible.

ITINERARY
1200 - Depart NASWI Fitness Center
1215 - Depart NASWI Liberty Center
1500 – Arrive Kraken Community Iceplex
1630 – Game Starts
1800 – Depart Kraken Community Iceplex
