25 years later, we remember.

On September 11, 2001, our nation experienced the unthinkable. but also witnessed extraordinary courage, sacrifice, service, and unity.

Today, we honor the lives lost, the first responders who ran toward danger, the heroes who answered the call, and the families who carry their memories forward. May we continue to remember not only the tragedy of that day, but the strength and compassion that brought Americans together in the days that followed.

Over the years, Jessica has continued to grow both personally and professionally, building countless relationships with businesses and community partners, some of which have even blossomed into great friendships.

She never hesitates (usually) to dive into a new project, explore a new opportunity, or find another way to support our local businesses. All the while, she continues to work on OCIC’s marketing efforts, manage fiscal operations, and keep a full calendar of events and outreach moving forward.

Jessica’s passion for connecting people, building relationships, and making a difference continues to grow right along with her role at OCIC.

Happy Work Anniversary, Jess! Here’s to continued growth, new adventures, and adding just a few more hats to the collection. 🎩

Thank you to the Ohio Restaurant & Hospitality Alliance for hosting the Summer Social in Sandusky this week! ☀️

The event brought together hospitality professionals from across the region for networking, an industry update from ORHA, and a panel discussion featuring local restaurant leaders, including The Ørchard Bar & Table.

The discussion provided valuable insight into the challenges, opportunities, and emerging trends shaping Ohio’s restaurant and hospitality industry, helping inform how organizations and communities can better support its continued growth and success.

OCIC, along with our partners at JobsOhio and the Regional Growth Partnership Northwest Ohio, had a great day connecting with several federal organizations in Ottawa County last week!

We had the privilege of meeting with Fort Ohio Base Operations Manager Col. Michael Yates at Camp Perry to learn more about current operations, hear that activity at the base is going strong, and better understand the important work happening there. Our visit also included a tour of the base and an opportunity to see the facilities firsthand.

Prior to our visit at Camp Perry, we also connected with representatives from the Erie-Ottawa International Airport - KPCW and U.S. Customs and Border Protection in Port Clinton to hear about ongoing and upcoming projects.

It was a valuable day of connecting with our local partners, learning more about their operations, and identifying opportunities for continued collaboration.
