🚨 SCAM ALERT: PROTECT YOURSELF OAK CREEK! 🚨

We need your immediate attention to stop a dangerous phone scam targeting our local community.

Scammers are calling Oak Creek residents pretending to be Police Department detectives. They will tell you that you have an active arrest warrant, but claim you can "fix" it by sending money over the phone.

THIS IS A 100% FRAUDULENT SCAM. 🛑

The Oak Creek Police Department will NEVER handle legitimate legal matters this way. Please remember these critical safety rules to keep yourself and your bank account safe:

*No Phone Demands: We never call citizens demanding immediate payments.

*Fake Urgency: Scammers use fear and pressure to stop you from thinking clearly.

*No Gift Cards: Police do not accept gift cards, wire transfers, or cryptocurrency.

*Lock Your Data: Never give your SSN, ID, or banking info to unknown callers.

*Hang Up & Verify: If the call feels suspicious, hang up immediately.

If you receive one of these fraudulent calls, do not cooperate. Hang up the phone and call our official, trusted non-emergency line directly at (414) 762-8200.

Ten members of the Oak Creek Police Department Honor Guard traveled to Washington, D.C., for National Police Week. There they joined thousands of officers from around the world to honor the 363 fallen heroes added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial wall this year.

The experience was deeply heartbreaking and powerful. Our team witnessed families leaving final tributes, including handwritten letters from children talking to their moms and dads. We stood proud to recognize Wisconsin’s own fallen, including Milwaukee Police Officer Kendall Corder, whose name was newly engraved on the wall.

Our unit also had the profound privilege of participating in the Candlelight Vigil. After surviving families were escorted to their seats, thousands of officers held candles in silence as the names of the fallen were read.

Connecting with fellow law enforcement professionals from across the U.S. and overseas reinforced our commitment to our community and deeply strengthened the brotherhood and sisterhood within our own team. As we return to duty, we carry the memories of the fallen with us and reaffirm the promise that unites all officers: "We have the watch from here."
