It’s that time again, summertime!!!! A Big shout out to Kitty Flanagan, our Head Lifeguard, and Warren Cabana our top Niantic Park laborer did such a great job today installing our Moby mats at InkWell beach and Town Beach!!! I got the John deer tractor and beach rake out for a quick spin around town/pay beach . Our handicap accessible beach wheelchairs are at Lifeguard stand number one. And our Lifeguards will be on full staff soon and where  looking forward to a great season

The Oak Bluffs elementary school walked to Alley Waban Park today celebrating Memorial Day with a great tribute to all our veterans and a ceremony of throwing flowers into the ocean. What a beautiful turnout for the entire town. ❤️

Mother nature has shown up in our parks. We have a nest with eggs in Alley Waban Park of Killdeer birds that we’ve fenced off for protection and we have an osprey who looks like it successfully made a nest on top of the light pole in the outfield at Veira Park. Very kool!!

Come on down to Niantic Park and have some fun 🤩 there are a few pickleball nets up and the tennis 🎾 courts are open and the bathroom is open 9am-6pm weather permitting, and the daffodils 🌼 are in bloom as well as the forsythia and the PJM Rhododendrum‘s and as always help keep our parks clean, thx and enjoy

Our band stand renovations project has begun and with funding from town capital improvement money. Gus from Vinyard Home Builders is doing a great job repairing the leaking roof that the band members sit on when they’re playing in the summer and also two rotten post that needed to be replaced.  They will be putting down a Kemperdur waterproof,slip proof product on the band stand platform. This project will take place for a few weeks with fresh paint to follow after the work is done.

Thx to all the volunteers with the Tree Stewards on Saturday as we planted 11 brand new trees in Veira , Washington, Nashawena , Pennacook and Alley Waban Parks … the weather was a little raw, but it was still a really fun time. Thanks again to everyone for helping out, and making our Parks beautiful.

It’s that time again 🌲🌳 the holes have been dug and the trees will be here on Friday . The Tree Stewards are meeting Saturday at 9am and Niantic Park to plant 10 new trees 🌲 in our beautiful parks. Come down and help volunteer with planting our new trees if you have time, it’s looks it gonna be a beautiful day ☀️ and it’s always a lot of fun 🤩
