I would like to formally recognize [an SCCPD Officer] for his exceptional professionalism and compassion during a recent mental health crisis with a member of my family. We were experiencing an extremely difficult situation involving sleep deprivation, alcohol use, weapons, and active hallucinations. [An SCCPD Officer] responded calmly and respectfully, treating my family member with dignity while ensuring safe transportation to the hospital for appropriate care. [An SCCPD Officer] remained with my mom, my daughter and I even after care was transferred to the hospital because it was clear we were emotionally overwhelmed. He took the time to provide guidance, reassurance, resources, and a steady presence when we needed it most. He demonstrated empathy, patience and emotional intelligence during our family crisis. His levelheaded approach and genuine compassion reflected outstanding judgement and character. Thank you from our family.

If you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stressed, or struggling, don't wait to seek help. Asking for support is a sign of strength.

🚓 Through our Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) program, officers receive specialized training to recognize and respond to mental health crises with compassion and care. We're proud that more than 92% of our officers are CIT-trained.

📞 Call 988 if:
• You or someone you know is experiencing suicidal thoughts
• Someone is discussing self-harm
• You're struggling with depression, anxiety, or substance misuse
• You need immediate emotional support or crisis counseling

🚨 Call 911 if:
• There is an active su***de threat
• Someone is threatening harm to themselves or others
• Immediate medical attention is needed
• There is a suspected overdose
• Someone is unable to care for themselves due to a mental health or substance-related crisis

Violent criminals, fugitives, illegal drugs, cash & weapons are off the streets thanks to **Operation Viper** — a coordinated effort between federal, state & local LE partners across the St. Louis Metro Area.

🔥 In just TWO WEEKS, Operation Viper resulted in:

✅ 91 arrests, including 45 state fugitives
💰 More than $310,000 seized
🔫 38 fi****ms recovered
💊 Significant quantities of fentanyl, methamphetamine & co***ne removed from our communities
