There is a risk of strong to severe storms later this afternoon and into the overnight hours. Be sure to check the weather frequently to ensure you catch the latest updates and have multiple ways to receive warning information.
Remember the sirens are only meant to warn those who are outdoors, but if you happen to hear the sirens the threat is much closer to you - seek sturdy shelter right away!

The lowdown on lightning:

⚡ NO PLACE outside is safe when thunderstorms are in the area.
⚡ If you hear thunder, lightning is close enough to strike you.
⚡ When you hear thunder, immediately move to safe shelter –
inside a substantial building or a metal-topped vehicle with the windows up.
⚡ Stay sheltered for at least 30 minutes after you hear the last sound of thunder.
