🎓 Police Academy Graduation Day!

Today, we had the opportunity to attend the graduation of two of our officers, Officer Madison Ashford and Officer Logan Schermesser, from Session 159 of the Southwestern Illinois College Police Academy.

After months of hard work, they’ve officially completed the academy. They get a well-earned weekend off before reporting back next week to begin Field Training.

We’re excited to have them back and ready to get to work!

Meanwhile, Session 160 is already underway, with three more O’Fallon officers currently attending. For Officers Burkhalter, Hahs, and Maddray, that December 4 graduation probably seems like a long way off right now…but it’ll be here before they know it.

Thanks to all of our officers for the hard work they’ve put in so far. We’re proud of the work they’re doing and look forward to what’s ahead. 🚔

We added some new solar speed signs this week (thank you O'Fallon Public Works), hopefully they will serve as a reminder and slow everyone down. We already had 3 in operation and have seen positive results in those areas.

These solar speed signs provide us real time data so we better know when and where to increase our traffic enforcement.

I am sure everyone wants one in their neighborhood, but these locations are determined by areas where speed has been an issue. We hope to continue to add more each year as the budget allows.

We are advising the public to avoid the area of Pierce Blvd. and S. Walnut following a natural gas line that was struck during construction.

Emergency crews are on scene and working with Ameren to shut off the flow of gas and secure the area. Road closures are in place and are expected to remain in effect until the line is capped.

Yes, the flier says 4-8 but OPD officers always go above and beyond so we will be there until close. Our friends at TXRH will be serving up those excellent steaks and mouth watering sides and donating 10% of sales back to Special Olympics Illinois. 💰💰

See how our officers do serving up those fresh hot rolls and cold drinks throughout the night. Tips are greatly appreciated. 🚔🚔

T-Shirts and App Cards will be for sale outside so anyone can stop by to purchase those.

Don't forget, we'll be at Texas Roadhouse tomorrow (Monday, August 24) from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM raising money for Illinois Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics!

Tell your server or bartender you're there supporting Special Olympics and they'll donate 10% of your bill to support our favorite athletes!

Officers and Athletes will also be accepting donations at the door!
