Well Summer☀️ is officially here...and with that frequent complaints of neighbors parking their Campers/RVs/Trailers on city streets. The city does have an ordinance that prohibits this type of parking so we thought we would send a friendly reminder as well as the ordinance:

🚨72:19 On Street Parking: (C) Parking of certain vehicles restricted. These large vehicles create obstructions making it difficult for those speeding drivers to see your children so please do NOT park your RV, trailer, Camper, etc on the city streets.😬

May want to give yourself a few extra minutes this week until everyone figures out their new route...

Don't try to make up the extra time by pressing the accelerator harder, tickets are expensive💵 and we prefer you don't find that out the hard way. 🚔🚔

Shooting Investigation

N Vine at East Washington.

There is a large police presence in this area. The situation is under control and there is no threat to the community. All subjects involved are in custody. We will release more information as it is available.

An adult female was transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.

It is with great sadness that we remember Sgt. Roy Winans (Ocean 4) and extend our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.

Roy dedicated his life to serving others and protecting the community he cared so deeply about. Beginning as a “Special Police” officer in the 1960s, he officially joined the O’Fallon Police Department as a Patrol Officer in 1974. Over his 20 years of service, Sgt. Winans served as a Juvenile Officer, Patrol Officer, Detective, and Sergeant.

He was also a dedicated mentor as an advisor to the O’Fallon Police Explorers and proudly served for 10 years on the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis. Following his retirement from OPD in 1994, Roy continued his commitment to law enforcement as Chief of Police in Okawville, Illinois.

Please keep the Winans family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
