SPRINGFIELD — An attorney with deep Decatur family roots is seeking the Republican nomination for the open 13th Congressional District seat.

Jesse Reising, a former standout Eisenhower football player, launched his candidacy becoming the first Republican to enter the race.

The district was drawn by Springfield Democrats, who controlled last year's redistricting process, with surgical precision, stretching from the Metro East region near St. Louis to Champaign-Urbana, picking up the urban cores of Springfield and Decatur in between.

The district was drawn to favor a Democrat — it was won by President Joe Biden by about an 11-point margin in

This Week's Virtual Pachyderm Club Meeting
Friday, June 12th w/ Vernon Robinson. REGISTER TODAY!!!

The National Federation of Pachyderm Clubs is again pleased to present to our members our continuing series of Virtual Pachyderm Club Meetings. For our next meeting we are pleased to present our special guest speaker, Vernon Robinson, a superb orator and co-author of his very topical book "Coming Home: How Black Americans will Reelect Trump."

As usual, we will be utilizing the Zoom video conferencing platform:

> Friday, June 12th, Noon CT: With Vernon Robinson;
Click Here for Zoom registration link.

Be sure to register ahead of time (and then join the meeting using the link or phone numbers provided in your confirmation email). Additionally, our Facebook Events page will have the most up-to-date information, so please also be sure to follow us on Facebook.

About the book: Newt Gingrich, former Speaker of the United States House of Representatives states that Vernon's book is "...a remarkably insightful and important book. It will shock the liberal media to learn President Trump’s margin in both Michigan and Pennsylvania was provided by Black Americans tired of the radical left. They apply this lesson to a unique analysis of the 2020 election."
About Vernon Robinson: Vernon Robinson is the principal at Robinson Stratavision Consulting LLC, which helps clients build large interactive organizations. His greatest professional achievement was directing the campaign to draft Ben Carson for President. He has also raised $26 million dollars for conservative causes and candidates. Robinson is a 1977 graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy and served in 15th Air Force in which his Tuskegee Airman father served 35 years before. He got into politics to expand educational opportunity through charter schools and K-12 scholarships. He served as Vice Chairman of Public Safety as a City Councilman in Winston-Salem, NC for 8 years. Robinson is married, has three grown children and one grandchild. He is an avid wargamer and student of military history. He is a member of the American Legion and is active in veterans’ affairs.

As distancing guidelines begin to loosen and your club determines when to begin meeting again in-person, we would urge you model good citizen cooperation by closely observing your State, County and City guidelines. In the meantime, if you would like to have a Zoom meeting just for your local club, the NFPC will be happy to work with you to schedule such a meeting. Thank you for being part of the Pachyderms! Stay safe and follow the “social distancing” guidelines. If you are unfamiliar with Zoom and need help setting up an account, please email me and I will connect you with a Young Republican who will walk you through a step-by-step process.

May God Bless each of you and may God Bless the USA.

Pachyderm Club Virtual Meeting w/ Matthew Whitaker

This Week's Virtual Pachyderm Club Meetings
Friday, May 29th w/ Matthew Whitaker. REGISTER TODAY!!!

The National Federation of Pachyderm Clubs is again pleased to present to our members our continuing series of Virtual Pachyderm Club Meetings. As usual, we will be utilizing the Zoom video conferencing platform. For our next meeting we are pleased to present our special guest speaker, Matthew Whitaker, former Acting U.S. Attorney General, frequent Fox News contributor, and author of his timely new book "Above the Law: The Inside Story of How the Justice Department Tried to Subvert President Trump."

> Friday, May 29th, Noon CT: With Matthew Whitaker; Click Here for Zoom registration link.

Be sure to register ahead of time (and then join the meeting using the link or phone numbers provided in your confirmation email). Additionally, our Facebook Events page will have the most up-to-date information, so please also be sure to follow us on Facebook.

Matt Whitaker is a good friend to the Pachyderm Clubs, having provided a keynote address at our national convention last year in Galveston, Texas. Whitaker's compelling book spells out how the Department of Justice had been steered off course by a Deep State made up of Washington insiders who saw themselves as above the law. Recklessly inverting, bending, and breaking the law to achieve their own political goals, they relentlessly undermined the Constitution by flaunting the rightful authority of a President they despised. He provides a stunning account of what he found in the swamp that is Washington. Whitaker reveals how the Deep State relies on the complicity of the mainstream media to achieve its ends and perpetuates itself, keeping a small clique of people in power to ensure that nothing ever changes. If you had any doubts that the Deep State actually exists, that it perpetuates a government of insiders, and that it inexorably pursues a political agenda of its own, then you will find Whitaker’s first-person account eye-opening and utterly convincing. His book is available for purchase at numerous online sites, including on Amazon at: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YL6Q1YS/
