September is Library Card Sign-Up Month, but you don’t need a new library card to join the fun! 💛📚

Whether you’ve had your O’Fallon Public Library card for 20 years or you’re finally ready to get your first one, we’re celebrating all the ways library cards connect our community.

This September:

🏡 Show your library pride. Pick up a free Library People Live Here yard sign and let the neighborhood know where you stand.

🎁 New to the library? The first 100 people to sign up for a new card will get a special goodie bag.

📚 Already have a card? Use it! Use your library card during September and you could be entered to win one of our end-of-month prize packs.

On November 3, O'Fallon voters will consider a referendum regarding a proposed new O'Fallon Public Library. We know a project like this comes with questions, and we want to make it easy for you to find clear, factual information about what's being proposed and why.

The library's new referendum information page is now live and will be updated periodically with new information, resources, and answers to frequently asked questions as we approach Election Day.

Dolly Parton was an icon and legend. Even this morning, OFPL staff included her in a list of "our heroes". We will remember her fondly for her generosity towards all people- especially the children that Dolly Parton's Imagination Library have served. Her legacy will live on through the songs she has sung, the stories she has told, our memories of her, and the love of reading she has inspired for so many kids. 🦋🎶

Calling all family history enthusiasts!

The Illinois State Genealogical Society is hosting its 2026 Fall Conference on Saturday, October 24 at the Gateway Convention Center in Collinsville!

This year’s theme, “Illinois 250: History in the American Bottom,” will explore the rich and diverse history of Southern Illinois. The full-day conference will feature three tracks of lectures covering topics like immigrant communities and ethnic heritage, migration patterns, military history, and even a tech-focused AI workshop.
