Rest In Peace Chief. We are heartbroken.
This is a post from his wife, Lee-Ann.
It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Miles E. Taylor.
Miles lived his life in service to his family and community. His wife, Lee-Ann Taylor, and children Darius & Sidney Taylor are devasted by this sudden loss. Miles spent years cheering at soccer matches for Darius and gymnastics events for Sidney. His biggest and heartiest laughs were always with his big sisters, Rosita and Karla. They would laugh so hard they would cry. He loved all of his nieces and nephews as well as his large extended family. His love for his family was first. His second love was his community. He will forever be a Nyack Indian. He competed as a Nyack Indian in track, he coached Nyack Indians XC and track for 26 years, and he was inducted into the Nyack Hall of Fame for Coaching earlier this year. His second family was the Nyack Fire Department, which he was a member of since the age of 16, and he had the honor of being a Chief of the Nyack Fire Department. He also recently joined the West Weathersfield Volunteer Fire Department in Vermont, which was fast becoming his new favorite place to be.
Miles was fortunate enough to work at his dream job for over 35 years as a Video Engineer for ESPN, ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, and numerous other companies in Television Production.
Since Miles loved dangerous things, he also enjoyed decades working for Fireworks by Grucci traveling the world to set off fireworks.
Miles touched the lives of so many people and he will be missed by all.
Please join me in celebrating the life of this wonderful man.
