"Care & Concern"
An ounce of care towards someone has the potential to make the most impact. It is literally the easiest thing to give to someone, just an ounce of care, and yet it has been the most difficult thing that we've seen to be given away.

Remember the 22 a day and the ones that go into hiding. You can help make a difference.

"Moms"
In honor of women during this month, we want to salute all the moms. We all know moms can do it all, and they often have no choice but to do it all. Military moms on the other hand, have to do more, it's inevitable. If you are a single mother, you are appreciated and respected. You are a warrior, whether you're a military member or not.

"Mean and Clean"
Let's do something a little different out there today. Let's do some reverse bridge building. If you have ever been in the military, or you are still, more than likely you've heard of morale patches. On a certain day of the week you may be allowed to wear one that you have created. If your unit or organization has created one, you may be able to wear it full time. You may just keep these on your backpacks. The ones that are created by you, the individual, we challenge you to share them with your upper chain of command; your Sergeants, LPO's and what not. The CLEAN ones mind you, unless you know they won't mind. They will get a kick out of it, trust us. Use them as a challenge coin but in reverse. They are human, they need compassion too and they're doing the best they can. Non-military, please, have some morale stickers made, and then pass them up.
Another challenge; share these with the veterans that you know are homeless, transitioning, or are in hiding and explain your the story behind it. They will enjoy it.

"Building"
When you look at this photo, what do you think it is that they are building? Remember, we had prompted this thought before in one of our other postings. Yes, physically they are building a structure or something that that will be part of a structure that's usefull to many. More importantly, they are building relationships. The forged team bonds, the dynamics created here will only help them to work more smoothly on projects in the future.

This is all a part of that positive group dynamics that we all want to be a part of, or at least, we all should desire this.
This is what we like to strive for in working with those veterans, and others in general.

"Military Women"
As part of Women's History Month; women have made great strides since WWII. More recently, they have come from vital roles to combatant roles in the military. Whether we acknowledge this or not, these, some combatant roles are being filled with the female counterpart and deserve a job well done.
This doesn't lessen the pain or heartache felt within ranks of male combatants as we send them off. Nor, are they exempt from the internal or external wounds that are incurred in battle and the residual affects contended with at home. And yes, some, do go into hiding as well.
Our care and concern for them are the same, along with the gratitude of that willing and volunteering spirit that the women possess in taking on such a task. A big thank you to the women who have done so.

"Catapult"

When others are in need, let's be more of a catapult to them. At the very least, we should assist them in getting to where they need to go. It won't take any wind out of our sails, but only adding more sunshine to our day.

"Snow Day"
Have you ever experienced a "snow day"? On the west coast of the U.S. maybe not so much, like in California, unless up in the northern part and above it. But going eastward towards the Midwest and on to the east coast you're probably familiar with those kind of days. We have to tell you, those were the most beautiful days ever. Maybe not for some, but for the most part, they were pretty darn awesome. Everything was peaceful out, roads were shut down but more importantly for kids the schools were closed. It was peaceful because of this white insulation blanketed everything and there was not much yelling outside or any typically loud noises heard because of the sound absorption.
We were forced to to stay home and walk to the local store to get what we needed, work, or just play in the snow. What it really did was, cause us to slow our roll...pause and reflect; take inventory of life so to speak. Stopping to smell the roses.

We should attempt to do this once in a while, more intentionally though. Maybe to build things that need building, the important things.
This is exactly what we'd like to do with our Spark of Life Project, pause with others, take inventory and build what needs to be built...

"Raw Material"
In which application would you choose? Both are similarly rustic in nature, roughly the same texture, both have a little bit of a rough edge. One is definitely more dense and heavier, and is going to be a lot stronger material than the other. Don't dismiss one or count it out simply because you may not see an application for it. It's more about perspective.

We feel, both can probably be used in a similar environment, in harmony, or in totally different ones entirely. But make no mistake, both contain a beauty and richness of use in an application. This is exactly how we feel about those veterans that are in hiding, are transitioning, or are homeless all together. Those that are dismissed by others or are overlooked. There is value in the ones that aren't veterans as well. Let's stop for a minute during the day, and just reflect on this. We promise, you'll start to see something better in others.
