MU Northern Missouri Research, Extension and Education Center

MU Northern Missouri Research, Extension and Education Center The Northern MO REEC is part of the Missouri Agricultural Experiment Station (MOAES) at CAFNR.

The Greenley Research Center evaluates efficient, practical, and profitable crop production practices while emphasizing soil health and conservation; water quality, quantity, and conservation; integrated cattle management; and energy efficiency. The Center has been conducting regenerative and sustainable agriculture research since its inception in 1974. It is currently involved in developing a sys

tems approach for irrigation and drainage which focuses on drainage water recycling and paired watersheds. We evaluate the effect of new technology and conservation practices on air quality (greenhouse gas emissions), water quality, enhanced water use efficiency and resource protection. Ongoing performance testing of corn, soybean, cover crops, forages, alternative crops (i.e. industrial hemp, rice, beans), enhanced efficiency fertilizer management, crop protection products, biomass crops, and winter wheat continues to yield results that support Missouri farmers and agri-businesses.
