Did you know? Novato residents can request free e-waste pick-up right at their home!

Conservation Corps North Bay will pick up your unwanted electronic items like TVs, computers, laptops, monitors, printers, cell phones, cameras, keyboards, cables, and more. Pick-ups are scheduled for Mondays and Thursdays (except holidays).

💡If your device still works, you might consider donating it to someone who could use it! Give usable tech a second life first, then recycle it when its usefulness is done.

What You Flush (and Toss) Matters! 🚽♻️

Only human waste and toilet paper belong in the toilet — everything else needs to go in the right waste cart.

Sort it right:

🗑️ Trash cart — items that aren't recyclable or compostable (wipes, dental floss, etc.)
♻️ Recycling cart — clean plastic containers (like empty shampoo or lotion bottles)
🌱 Compost cart — toilet paper rolls, tissues, and other compostable bathroom products

Do your part — choose the right cart!

What can go in your green cart? 🌱
Guess first, then check your answers below! ⬇️

Chicken bones
Egg shells
Apple cores
Plant trimmings
Greasy pizza box

✅If your answer was all of the above, you were right. All food scraps, even meat and bones, belong in the green cart. Uncoated paper and plant clippings too.

But don't toss in items labeled "compostable" — our regional facility produces 'organic' compost and cannot process synthetic materials, including “compostable bags." When in doubt, check before you toss.

Did you know many items we use every day are considered household hazardous waste once it's time to dispose of them? Here's why:

That aerosol can of spray paint, the old bottle of nail polish, a burnt-out fluorescent bulb, or those used up batteries all contain materials that are toxic, flammable, corrosive, or reactive — harmful if tossed in the trash.

At our Household Hazardous Waste Facility, we are equipped to dispose of or recycle them properly to protect your home, health, and the environment.

Did you know that Novato residents can schedule free e-waste pickup? No packing up the car, no driving to a drop-off site. Just schedule a pickup, and the Conservation Corps of the North Bay will come to your home. Pickups can be scheduled for a Monday or Thursday (except holidays).

Your old electronics are securely recycled by a certified e-waste recycler in California.

This program is available for residential pickups in Novato only.

What's accepted: computers, phones, TVs, and most other electronics. Check the full list before you schedule.
