Some of you have probably seen the Future Home of Notus Public Library sign in the lot across from us and wondered how it came about. A few years back, our library was named as an annual beneficiary of the Lorraine Klahr Foundation. Each year since then we have received a percentage of the trust's assets. Because the City of Notus doesn't own the building we currently occupy, the Library Board has been placing these funds in a savings account to build a new library that will truly belong to our community. No one on our Library Board knew Lorraine personally, but two things we know from her generosity, she valued libraries, and she believed in Notus! Thanks to Lorraine and those who are so successfully managing her foundation, we can begin writing our next chapter. To finish it will take all of us! We invite you to read a little about Lorraine at the link, share stories in the comments if you knew her, and visit the library to learn how you can help.

View Lorraine Klahr's obituary, send flowers and sign the guestbook.
