During times of heightened demand on our Military, we invite our Veterans Engagement Initiative (VEI) Community and our local Notre Dame Clubs to support Military Families in simple, meaningful ways—a call, a note, a prayer, or a helping hand.

Small gestures can make a big difference.

We also invite you to keep these families in your prayers.

Thank You to Jean Kinney, Dennis Figg, Laura Eifler, Walker Adams and Fr Peter Rocca for developing, creating and sharing this prayer and the accompanying message.

EPISODE 8: THE PASSION PERFORMANCE Recorded Good Friday 2023 on the South Quad of the University of Notre Dame Campus

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life” (John 3:16). The Passion invites us not only to reflect on Christ’s sacrifice, but also to consider how we are called to offer the gift of love to others. I will not be called to pray with Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane, but I can answer the phone in the early morning hours when someone needs to talk. I can reach out to a newly widowed friend or visit an elderly person who rarely has visitors. Each of us has gifts to offer, and we are reminded of our call to act with kindness, love, and service—values deeply rooted in the Notre Dame community.

EPISODE 7: MEMORY AND MOURNING

https://think.nd.edu/?mailpoet_router&endpoint=view_in_browser&action=view&data=WzE0MDcsIjQ4MWQxYzc3NjIyMCIsMCwwLDAsMV0

Over the years, I have taken solace in the fact that I am not alone in my failure(s). I am and would have been in good company. My salvation has come in the form of my religious faith that has provided a consistent Liturgy and Liturgical calendar throughout the years. The liturgy allows me to enter the Passion week with my own set of emotions. It does not judge me as to whether these emotions are "appropriate" emotions. It does not demand that I feel any specific emotion at a specific time. It does allow me to enter into a story of a life with God. This story is bigger than myself. This story provides me with a community of believers who lift me up and are there for me. In turn, it allows me to support others in need.

EPISODE 6: THE PASSION IN OUR DAILY LIVES

https://think.nd.edu/?mailpoet_router&endpoint=view_in_browser&action=view&data=WzE0MDYsIjFmYmUyYzI2MDM3YyIsMCwwLDAsMV0

The Passion of Christ is not simply a moment in history; it is a lens through which I am called to view my daily life. In Christ’s willing suffering—His endurance, humility, and obedience for the redemption of humanity—I am reminded that love is proven not in comfort, but in sacrifice. Ultimately, the Passion of Christ is the foundation of my life. It reminds me that suffering does not have the final word—love does. In every role I hold, I am called to carry the cross entrusted to me with faith, trusting that through sacrifice, perseverance, and grace, God continues His work of healing and redemption in the world.
