The members of the Norwood Police Department would like to congratulate Police Officer Julie White on her retirement after 25 years of dedicated service in law enforcement.
Officer White transferred to the Norwood Police Department in 2002, becoming the Borough's first female police officer. She brought valuable experience as an Emergency Medical Technician and quickly became a leader during medical emergencies, providing compassionate care and comfort to countless residents and their families during difficult times.
Throughout her career, Officer White made significant contributions to our community as a DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) and LEAD (Law Enforcement Against Drugs) instructor. In these roles, she proudly represented the department while building positive relationships with students, teachers, and staff within our public schools.
Officer White also served for many years as a member of the Bergen County Rapid Deployment Force, a specialized unit that responds to large-scale civil disturbances, disasters, and other critical incidents throughout the county.
In addition, Officer White became the Borough's first certified Child Passenger Safety Technician. She took great pride in assisting families by ensuring that child safety seats were properly installed, providing parents and caregivers with confidence and peace of mind that their children were traveling safely.
We thank Officer White for her years of service and wish her a healthy, happy, and well-deserved retirement.
