This April was our busiest one ever just like January! We ran a total of 75 calls to service. We had 13 days with 3 or more calls with 7 of them on the 24th!

563 got to do exactly what it was built for drafting out of the front intake and supplying the ladder on a house fire!

BURN BAN IN EFFECT – STANLY COUNTY

Due to increased fire risk, the N.C. Forest Service has issued a ban on all open burning and has canceled all burning permits statewide effective 6 p.m. Saturday, March 28, until further notice.

In addition, local agencies including the Stanly County Fire Marshal's Office & City of Albemarle Fire Marshal's Office have also issued bans prohibiting burning.

🚨 What this means:
- No outdoor burning of any kind
- This includes campfires, bonfires, and agricultural burning
- Applies to all areas of Stanly County

🔥 These restrictions are in place to reduce the risk of wildfires and protect lives and property during high fire danger conditions.

⚠️ Violations may result in a fine of up to $250 for a first offense.

**Monthly Run Report**

January was our busiest month in 2025 and it held up to its standard and then some, with this one being the busiest month in our history of record keeping with 86 calls to service.

Little knowledge for the public. We operate as a truly volunteer department, we do have part time staffing that the county gives money to cover 8 hours a day Monday to Friday. The rest of the time it's 100% volunteer. Only 2 days this month that we didn't have a call just 2!

One year ago today our brother Will went home...

We miss him all the time, and continue to talk about him every chance we get. He was more than a fireman and a paramedic. He was a husband, a father, a nephew, a son, and most importantly to us at the 56 house our brother.

Rest easy Will, we love you!

Ladder 56 responded with a 4 man crew while others remained in town for coverage. L56 was set up for possible water tower operations and the crew was used for multiple other tasks.

Also while L56 was gone at 1257 we were dispatched to assist Aquadale Rural Volunteer Fire Department with a brush fire endangering a structure. Engine 563, Brush 566, and Brush 567 responded.

All units were back in the district and available around 1400.
