Another summer resource for hungry families. SUN Bucks (Summer EBT) is a federal food benefit that helps low-income families with school-aged children buy food when schools are closed for the summer. If you have SNAP you can get up to $40, $60 or $80 extra each month for Farm Stand (HIP) fruits and vegetables, depending on your household size. When you swipe your EBT card for $20 of fruits and vegetables from the HIP farm, HIP will instantly give you back the $20 that you spent and turn it back into SNAP on your EBT card. Thank you to the Blue Hills Adult Education community for their recent food drive. A special thank you to Tammy for organizing the drive and to May, Tammy, and Declan for delivering the donations to the pantry. 🎉 We're thrilled to welcome Kate Sibbing-Dunn as the new Executive Director of the Ecumenical Community Food Pantry of Norwood!

Kate is a longtime Norwood resident whom many of you may know from her years on the School Committee, as chair of the Norwood Cultural Council, or as a co-founder of Progress Norwood. Her passion for this work runs deep — she grew up volunteering at the soup kitchen her father operated in Ohio and later served on the board of the Roslindale Food Pantry.

Kate brings financial management, operations, fundraising, and communications experience that will help the Norwood Food Pantry grow and serve even more neighbors in need. We couldn't be more excited to have her leading the team.

Deb Devine has stepped back from her role as executive director but will continue to serve as a regular volunteer. Deb has led the pantry for many years, managing to get us through COVID and our massive client growth. Deb will stay on as a volunteer but wants more time to spend with her family and, as she said, "actually take a vacation." We thank Deb for all of her years of service and dedication to the Pantry.
