Norwood Police Association

Norwood Police Association Our membership consists of all sworn police officers at the Norwood Police Department as well as retired Norwood Police officers.

The Norwood Police Association was formed to bring together and unite the officers of the Norwood Police Department with an emphasis of supporting our local community. Over the years, the residents and businesses of Norwood have been extremely supportive of our efforts. The Norwood Police Association is devoted to helping individuals, families, seniors, veterans, youth organizations, school sports

, school academic groups, and other benevolent organizations in the Town of Norwood. We have been a proud sponsor of the Norwood High School Post-Prom Party since its inception in 1988 and a perennial sponsor and supporter of the Norwood Circle of Hope Foundation, Norwood Recreation Department, and Concerts on the Common to name a few.

We've cautioned the public in the past about scammers trying to get money from people, sometimes by posing as a non-profit fundraiser. So we wanted to let the public know that the Norwood Police Association is sending a mail solicitation to every Norwood business seeking donations. If you receive a letter in the mail, please know that it is legitimate.

In the past, the Association has used a firm that makes phone calls to residents, but those firms take a cut of what residents donate and the calls can be a nuisance. So in an effort to minimize any inconvenience, the Association has switched to a mailing this year. All funds donated go directly to the Association, and the Association spends a lot of those donations supporting other local charities. And the mailing is an annual effort; you'll only receive one.

It is obviously up to each business whether to donate, but I wanted to let you know that the mail solicitation is legitimate. As of now only Norwood Businesses will receive a letter. If we decide to send a mail solicitation to Norwood residents, we will post an update. If any residents are interested in donating though there is a link on our page that would allow you to do so. Thank you in advance for any and all donations.
