Our Norwood FFA Chapter traveled to Pueblo last week to attend the 2026 Colorado State FFA Convention, where our members represented Norwood with pride and professionalism.

Congratulations to Brylea Butler and Kannon Sherman on earning their State FFA Degrees, one of the highest honors bestowed upon Colorado FFA members. Brylea was recognized on stage during the 98th State FFA Convention on June 3, joining more than 350 Colorado FFA members who received this distinguished award.

Brylea also had the honor of serving on the Nominating Committee, helping select the 2026–2027 Colorado State FFA Officer Team. Dalton Brack and Hayden Heldman served as chapter delegates, representing Norwood on the Financial Committee and Program of Activities Committee, respectively.

In addition to attending convention sessions, delegate meetings, and leadership workshops, our members explored career opportunities at the Career Expo and visited the Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum, where they learned about historic military aircraft and the contributions of U.S. citizens and service members throughout our nation's history.

The students also toured CSU Pueblo's Nursing Simulation Lab, gaining valuable insight into the university's nursing program and exploring potential career pathways in healthcare.

We are incredibly proud of these students for their leadership, dedication, and outstanding representation of Norwood FFA throughout the convention. 💙💛

Summer Stampede Week 1 has been a complete success!

The elementary students have enjoyed learning about pioneer life through various ELA, Math, Social Studies, PE, and Art learning activities.

They have had a blast reviewing various Math skills through card games and other fun tools too!

The first week ended today with a fun performance of their practiced Reader’s Theater, “Mrs. Add-Bad” and a special visit from Mittens, the McKeevers’ kitten! Looking forward to next week!

Dear Elementary Parents and Guardians,

As we wrap up the final few days of school, I wanted to send out a few important reminders about upcoming events and end-of-year information.

Field Day will take place tomorrow, May 20, beginning at 9:30 a.m. This year’s Field Day will be House-themed, so students should wear their House shirts if they have one.
Please also make sure your child comes prepared with:

Sunscreen
Comfortable shoes they can run in
A water bottle

We are looking forward to a fun morning of activities with the students!

Our Elementary Awards Assembly is scheduled for Thursday, May 21 at 8:00 a.m. Following the awards assembly, Kindergarten Graduation will begin at 9:30 a.m.

If parents would like to take their child home after either the awards assembly or kindergarten graduation, please be sure to check them out through their teacher before leaving.

Also, end-of-year testing scores and assessment information should be coming home in your child’s backpack or folder sometime this week, so please be on the lookout for those materials.

Finally, please remember that school will release at 1:00 p.m. on May 21.

Thank you for all of your support throughout the school year. We appreciate your partnership and hope everyone has a wonderful summer!

Sara Rasmussen
