Today is National Senior Health and Fitness Day! Seniors benefit in numerous ways from physical activity. Exercises can be done at home, a community pool or at a local center. And seniors aren't limited to just one type of exercise either. There are many to choose from and many activities can be modified to fit any limitations. Yoga, walking and swimming are all low impact routines that offer a range of benefits late in life and for all abilities.

Some of the benefits include:

☑Maintain strength, healthy joints and muscles
☑Helps reduce or control blood pressure
☑Reduce the risk of colon cancer and diabetes
☑Ease symptoms of anxiety

Sheltering Arms residents and clients from Ross Adult Day Center enjoyed their very first ride of the season on our newly purchased trishaw! The smiles and excitement made for a wonderful day.

We would like to once again thank the many organizations whose generosity made it possible for us to purchase our own trishaw: WONDR NATION, CorePlus Credit Union, Caring in Action, Charter Oak Federal Credit Union, Norwich Public Utilities, Eastern CT Savings Bank Foundation, Norwich Rotary Sunrise Club, and Norwich Rotary Club.

This trishaw will provide countless enjoyable rides and special memories for years to come.

Clients at Ross Adult Day Center and residents of Sheltering Arms recently celebrated Dawn, our Activity Director's 5th work anniversary with a special visit from some adorable puppies! Smiles and laughter filled the room, and a wonderful time was had by all.

A special thank you to Yvonne and Jackie for bringing the puppies and sharing so much joy with everyone!
