St. Vincent de Paul Place Norwich

St. Vincent de Paul Place Norwich Food Pantry, Soup Kitchen, and Advocacy. St.

Vincent de Paul Place (SVdPP) was founded to meet the basic needs of the poor and homeless in Norwich, CT and the surrounding region. Since 1979, provide food and loving care to the poor and homeless of the Norwich area, regardless of race or religion. SVdPP is consistent with Christian tradition; is non-judgmental; promotes a more independent lifestyle for clients; encourages compassion; and is

sensitive to emergency needs. Our goals at SVdPP are to keep our patrons nourished and as stable as possible in their health, housing, and daily activity, as well as to offer a variety of ways to link patrons to programs and benefits that will lead them toward self-sufficiency. The staff that accomplishes this is made up of three full-time and five part-time employees, who are supported by over 100 active volunteers.

Support does not always come with fanfare. Sometimes it looks like the simple, thoughtful things. Coolers. Cups. Supplies. Items that help us do what we do, day in and day out. The Connecticut Sun, a huge supporter of SVdPP, has always understood that even the smallest gestures can make a real difference. They never hesitate to support our mission.

Our coffee service is a HUGE part of our day at SVdPP, and we’re reaching out for your support! Historically, we've received generous donations of GROUND COFFEE, which we have relied on, but that support is no longer available.

If you can help, please drop off or send deliveries of any coffee donations at 120 Cliff St. Norwich, CT 06360, Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4 PM, and Saturday from 7 AM to 3 PM. Every little bit helps, and we truly appreciate your generosity! Thank you so much!

A huge thank you to one of our patrons, Daniel, for helping improve our parking lot by painting the parking space lines.

Acts of service come in many forms, and Daniel's willingness to share his time and talents is a wonderful example of community helping community. Thanks to his hard work, our parking lot is safer, more organized, and more welcoming for everyone who visits St. Vincent de Paul Place.

We are grateful for Daniel and for the many patrons, volunteers, and supporters who give back in ways both large and small. Together, we make this place stronger.

Many people know Sue as one of the friendly faces at our front desk, greeting guests and helping things run smoothly throughout the day.

What many may not see is the work she does behind the scenes. In today’s photo, Sue is stocking diapers, helping ensure that families with young children have access to an essential item that can place a significant strain on a household budget.

From answering questions to organizing supplies, Sue is always ready to lend a hand wherever it is needed.

Thank you, Sue, for the care, dedication, and kindness you bring to St. Vincent de Paul Place every day.

Carrie and Marty pause for a quick smile while getting ready to serve breakfast to our community. On the menu was eggs, sausage, oatmeal, cereal, and toast, a warm and welcoming start to the day for many of our guests.

Carrie is a member of the Sunrise Rotary Club, whose members generously volunteer here and support our work. Marty is one of our longtime volunteers, known for bringing smiles, laughter, costumes, and jokes that brighten the dining room and lift spirits.

Thank you both for the kindness, energy, and joy you bring to St. Vincent de Paul Place.

In today’s photo, our volunteer Arthur is helping gather clothing for one of our patrons experiencing homelessness.

At St. Vincent de Paul Place, we try to keep a supply of basic essentials available for our VIPs, including underclothes, socks, sweatpants, shorts, and a variety of shirts. We also have outerwear and shoes available.

Something as simple as a clean pair of socks, a warm sweatshirt, or properly fitting shoes can make a tremendous difference in someone’s day, especially for those facing life outdoors.

Thank you to Arthur and to all those in our community who donate clothing and essentials to help care for our neighbors with dignity and compassion.

Beverly was all smiles as she received a set of dishes donated by Donald, who no longer needed them.

These dishes will now become part of our apartment room, a special space where individuals and families who are moving into housing can shop, free of charge, for everyday household items they need to help turn an apartment into a home.

Every plate, pot, towel, and lamp tells a story of community. Items once used and loved by one neighbor become a fresh start for another.

A heartfelt thank you to Donald, and to all those in our community who continue to donate household items with such generosity and care. These simple acts help create dignity, comfort, and hope for those beginning a new chapter.
