Airport Day is also what you don't see behind the scenes. A true community effort to ensure safety for the performers and our guests. For months we have been working on safety and emergency plans with SkyCommand Air Boss (Trey Brown), City of Norwich Fire Department, Chenango County Office of Emergency Services and the Civil Air Patrol New York Wing, among others.

Did you know we had an airboat on the Chenango River and another boat on Mead's Pond? (Thanks Oliver's Campers!) There were also fire personnel with emergency vehicles on the east side of the river on County Road 32. All just in case...

Everyone, including other aircraft organizations, took part in a safety briefing at 8:00am with SkyCommand, the FAA and Warbird Thunder Airshows to go over what was expected. Personnel were also asked to look at the aircrafts to ask questions about where fuel shut offs were, how to get the pilots out in case of emergency, and ask ANY questions they had about the aircrafts.

The fire trucks and ambulances hauling down the taxiway across the field to get to Matt from the Chenango County Planning Department in the Gator? That was a planned exercise where we had to respond within 60 seconds to an "emergency". (Matt was unharmed during this exercise, we promise!)

The Civil Air Patrol New York Wing was out on the apron helping us ensure our guests stayed away from any moving aircraft and the crowd line. They also were the color bearers for the National Anthem. If you have kids looking to get into aviation or the US Armed Forces, check them out!

We thank you and recognize you all for your service to not only Airport Day, but for your day-to-day contributions to our communities.

Could you hear the thunder over Norwich!? Warbird Thunder Airshows has arrived with a little sneak peak of more to come at tomorrow’s event!

Our breakfast options have changed for Airport Day. Unfortunately the Donut hut can't make it but Magro’s in the Morning has been amazing and stepped in to fill the void!

Make sure to support them here at Lt Warren E. Eaton Airport tomorrow morning!

With one day to go until Airport Day, we would like to remind attendees of the "do's and don'ts" on the airport property!

PLEASE REMEMBER TO:
- Listen to all staff and volunteers, they are there for your safety! Staff will be wearing bright orange shirts. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to ask one of them.
- Adhere to all safety precautions and signs. Make sure to read signs carefully and stay out of restricted zones. With so many moving aircraft, it is important to stay safe throughout the day.
- With the amount of visitors we are expecting, we encourage carpooling. When parking in the field, please be respectful of parking lines and lanes. the entrance and exit lines are painted orange on the grass.
- Accompany all children for safety. Make sure to keep an eye on the little ones, especially around the bounce houses.
- Bring a chair, friends, and family! With the two airshows, lawn chairs will be allowed to sit and enjoy the shows in the field.
- Be kind, thoughtful, and respectful to all! This event is free and for the community. Please make sure that everyone gets a chance to enjoy the day!

PLEASE REFRAIN FROM:
- Do not cross any markings or barriers. These are here for your safety! In the field viewing area, there are orange paint lines and cones, stay behind them.
- Smoking and alcohol consumption is not allowed on the property.
- Refrain from bringing your pets unless they are service animals. Many of the aircraft visitors are extremely loud and may make your pet uncomfortable.

Most of all... have fun! Airport Day continues to be a great event for our community.
