This year the Norwich High School Musical Club will be staging the 1998 Broadway musical Footloose. It is based on the 1984 film of the same name. The movie cast included, Kevin Bacon, Lori Singer, Sarah Jessica Parker and John Lithgow, This years' production will be directed by Shannon Richards. Ms. Richards teaches elementary music at the Stanford Gibson Primary School. She was active in the NHS Musical Club when she was a student portraying the Rolls of Eponine in "Les Miserables" and Christine Daae in "Phantom of the Opera." Assisting Ms. Richards will be Mrs. Michele Pomares music teacher at Perry Browne Elementary School. The show is slated for the weekend of April 5,6 & 7, 2019.

Any one who is handy with tools Norwich Norwich High School Musical Club is in need of some help with set construction for their production of Little Shop of Horrors. Tomorrow (Sat Feb 13th) beginning at 10am. Donuts and coffee will be provided as well as pizza during the lunch break!

At the conclusion of the 2014-15 school year I stepped down as director of the NHS Musicals. The district advertised the opening and interviewed a couple of interested candidates. At the conclusion of the process Cameron Kinnear was named as the new director. I have known Cameron for 10+/- years and I am familiar with his work. I have played in pit orchestras for him and vice versa. I am confident that the program is in good hands.

This spring, after 22 years, I will be stepping down as director of musical productions at Norwich High School in Norwich, NY. Over this period of time we have staged some of musical theater's most popular shows including, "Les Miserables, " Disney's “Beauty and the Beast” and Elton John and Tim...
