The Norwell Police Department is proud to introduce the newest Officer to our department, Officer Gabrielle Dos Santos!

Officer Dos Santos completed 23 weeks of rigorous training and graduated from the 8th Recruit Officer Class at the MPTC Lynnfield Police Academy today. Officer Dos Santos was selected for a leadership role as a squad leader and co-treasurer for her academy class.

Officer Dos Santos was born and raised in the town of Weymouth and graduated from Weymouth High School. Officer Dos Santos was a student athlete playing soccer and basketball for the town of Weymouth. Officer Dos Santos plans to continue her studies by completing a degree in Criminal Justice. She is fluent in portuguese and understands spanish.

Officer Dos Santos will begin her three month field training program this week. Please join us in congratulating and welcoming Officer Dos Santos!

*Peddling and Soliciting Reminder*

The Town of Norwell by law states the following….

§ 9-8 Peddler's license.

There shall be no peddling of commercial goods in the Town of Norwell without a peddler's license, issued by the Select Board. There shall be no door-to-door solicitation by commercial salesmen or agents in the Town of Norwell without written authorization from the Select Board. There shall be no door-to-door solicitation after sundown or 6:00 p.m., whichever is the earlier.

To our knowledge the Select Board has not issued a peddlers license in several years, therefore there should be no solicitation in the town.

In our experience the individuals we have met through soliciting products in town are young adults employed by businesses and are not aware of the violation. The employees have always been respectful to Officers and apologetic for the violation. Please keep this in mind when interacting with them as many of the employees are not aware they are violating the town by law. 😊

We would like to say THANK YOU to a longtime resident of Tiffany Road that would like remain nameless. She was very kind to us and brought in some pies and ice cream for the shift. It was well received and enjoyed by everyone! Enjoy your beautiful weekend Norwell! 🇺🇸

An overnight accident may disrupt water for some residents.

Overnight a motor vehicle accident at South and Pleasant street resulted in a large water main break.
Unfortunately this will inevitably disrupt service to some and bring discolored water to many residents

The water department is actively working to make repairs
