Hi Norwell! What a crazy week this has been. I'm happy to report at this time that all 160 lane miles of road in town have been cleared and widened. Between town crews and contractors, we've been working non-stop to achieve this.

Thank you to our dedicated employee's: James Murphy, Rocco Canale, Jon Huskins, Tofee Shamatta, Justin Deane, Brandon Fitzpatrick, Phil Murray, Sean Clancy, Stephen Drake, Brendan Greeley, Christian Dyer, and Remy O'Toole. These men have spent numerous hours away from home and their loved ones while taking care of our Town. They're all going to spend a much-deserved weekend at home catching up on some rest.

Thank you to our administrative team; Mary Hatcher and Laura Napa for their assistance during all of this! They had their hands full between fielding the numerous calls and messages, while also directing crews to areas that needed attention.

Another HUGE thank you to our amazing contractors! At its peak we had over 70 contracted pieces of equipment in town assisting with snow removal operations. A storm like this would've been impossible without them.

I also want to thank the numerous residents who dropped off food, coffee, and snacks on a daily basis. While most businesses were closed, our crews were well fed thanks to them!

We will continue to address minor storm clean up and tree debris over the next few weeks.

Good morning Norwell!

We’ve been working tirelessly since the first flakes during this historic storm. We’ll continue to address roadways throughout the day. Our priorities are Main roads and secondaries. Equipment will be in town throughout the week to address snow banks and drifting.

Please be patient, our crews have worked non stop to ensure emergency equipment and personnel are able to safely navigate the roads.

Sidewalks and neighborhoods will continue to be addressed as the week goes on. Please give our equipment the room to work and never approach them from the rear.

We understand this amount of snow is frustrating for everyone, public safety and safe passage is our priority. As clean up continues please remember, our crews aren’t machines; they need rest and recovery time. Clean up will take some time, but we’ll get it done.

Thank you to our friends at Norwell Fire Department and Norwell Police Department for all their assistance during this event.

Again, thank you all for your patience.

[Potentially Historic/Destructive Storm southeast of the BOS-PVD corridor] We are very concerned for areas southeast of the Boston-Providence corridor where wet snow combines with northeast wind gusts of 60-70 mph. Power outages & tree damage. Worst conditions Mon 4 am to noon.

Good morning Norwell!

We are gearing up for the first Blizzard in our area in quite a few years. This is expected to impact us with substantial snow and strong winds. Snowfall rates could potentially reach 2-3” an hour at its peak, I strongly encourage everyone to stay home and off the roads.

Town plows will be on the road just prior to arrival of the first flakes to pre-treat roadways. Our contractors are scheduled to join snow removal efforts in the evening. In total we will have 60 pieces of equipment working in town.

If you need to travel or comes across equipment working please give them space and “don’t crowd the plow”. Parents; please keep a close eye on the kiddos as piles and snow banks grow. As tempting as it is to build a fort and dig tunnels, it’s impossible for us to see underneath or behind these piles.

A parking ban is in effect from 4PM 2/22 until 6AM 2/24.

Curbside trash/recycling pickup for Monday 02/23 has been delayed until Tuesday 02/24. All curbside services will be delayed until the following day.
