This help us raise awareness on ways our community can work together to prevent overdoses.

☑️ Visit the Norwalk, CT Police Department medication drop box. A free, anonymous, and safe way to dispose of unwanted or unused medications.
☑️ Call the Health Department to pick up a Deterra bag. A safe way to deactivate and dispose of medication from home.
☑️ Keep all medications safely secured and out of reach. Our partners at The Norwalk Partnership have medication lock bags available.

Today on International Overdose Awareness Day we're standing together as we have for the last 25 years, advocating for change. We mourn. We educate. We act. Hand-in-hand across the globe, we work for a world without overdose.

It's National Immunization Awareness Month. Preteens and teens need vaccines too! Protect them against HPV, meningitis, and other serious infections. The Norwalk/Danbury Immunization Action Plan Program is running its annual adolescent immunization campaign entitled, "Win Win Win with the BIG 3". This initiative encourages pre-teens and teens to speak with their health care providers about 3 highly recommended vaccines: Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine, Meningococcal ACWY and Meningococcal B. If not prevented by vaccines, these diseases can lead to several cancers, serious disabilities, and even death. To learn more about vaccines for children and adolescents, visit https://www.norwalkct.gov/vaccines .
