Following new federal guidance, Virginia households that received VENA in November and partial SNAP benefits Nov. 13 will receive the remaining amount of their SNAP benefits by Tuesday, Nov. 18. Those who did not receive VENA will receive their full SNAP benefit on Saturday, Nov. 15.

December benefits are expected to return to the normal issuance schedule (on the 1st, 4th or 7th day of the month). With the end of the federal shutdown, VDSS does not anticipate any further disruptions to SNAP benefits in 2025, and no additional VENA benefits are expected at this time.

Visit www.dss.virginia.gov for current information and updates.

Following new federal guidance, we anticipate that 65% of their regular monthly SNAP benefits for more than 850,000 Virginians will be distributed by Thursday, November 13.

With the federal government’s reinstatement of SNAP benefits for November, the Commonwealth's Virginia Emergency Nutrition Assistance (VENA) initiative has been paused.

Any VENA benefits already received will not impact the November SNAP issuance amount for SNAP customers.

Please visit www.dss.virginia.gov for current information and updates.
