Things like gate codes, utility shutoff locations, medical or mobility needs of the people living there, and pets in the home.

It's a free, secure program, and the information is only accessible to emergency personnel.

The result is a faster, safer, and more effective response when it matters most, whether it's your home or your business.

The Norton Shores Soccer Complex on Porter Road is home to Michigan Futbol Academy's (MFA) North Shore programs, bringing high-level coaching, competitive play, and free clinics right here to our community.

It's a partnership that's been quietly growing for years, and one that gives kids in Norton Shores and across the lakeshore the chance to develop their game close to home.

This summer, MFA is offering free clinics and tryouts for boys and girls ages 7 to 19, all hosted at the Soccer Complex.

🚧 2026 CITY WIDE CHIP SEAL PROJECT - UPDATED DATES 🚧

Weather permitting, this year’s chip seal work is now scheduled to begin on 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟳 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟯𝟬, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲. 🛣️

1️⃣ Werner St (Shettler Rd to Dead End)
2️⃣ Buck St (Shettler Rd to Dead End)

⚠️ Reduced travel speeds until surfaces fully settle

Please use caution when traveling through active work zones and allow extra travel time when possible.

Most Thursday evenings this summer, Ross Park Beach becomes the place to be for one of Norton Shores' most well-loved traditions. This year's show, "The Secret Sip," brings a Roaring 20s twist to the water with pyramids, synchronized routines, and a night out the whole family can enjoy.

Today is Memorial Day.

Across Norton Shores, small American flags stand at the graves of veterans in our local cemeteries. Each one is placed by hand, set into a flag holder that marks a life given in service to this country. It's a quiet tradition, but a meaningful one, and a reminder that the people we remember today lived here, too. They were our neighbors, family members, and friends.

Memorial Day is set aside to honor the men and women who died in military service. It's different from Veterans Day, which honors all who have served. Today is about those who never came home.

We're grateful for their service and for the families who carry their memory forward. Today, and every day.

Thank you to the volunteers from VFW Post 3195, who gave of their time to plant the flags at our Norton Shores cemeteries.

As more families come to visit our cemeteries this season, here are a few reminders of the guidelines that help keep these spaces well-kept and respectful for everyone who visits.

Memorial Day, July 4, and Labor Day flowers may be placed on the Thursday before and should be removed by the following weekend.

From April through October, all decorations should be placed in urns.

Cemeteries are open daily from 8:00 AM until sundown.

Items like toys, balloons, glass, shepherd hooks, and artificial flowers are not permitted during the season.

These guidelines exist to help our cemeteries remain peaceful, well-cared-for, and easy to maintain year after year.
