Recently, we have been getting a lot of phone calls and in-person visits regarding text messages our citizens are receiving. Some of these messages include, “ we are putting a lien on your house”, “this is the IRS and you have unpaid taxes”, you have unpaid tickets and your license is subject to suspension”. Please remember businesses and companies will not communicate with you via text message. If you in fact have unpaid fines or liens being placed on your house, you would receive information in the mail from the courts. Please do not fall for these scams, and never give out your personal information over text or your cell phone . When in doubt, contact the police department and we can help determine the authenticity.

On Sunday, April 5th around 5:30pm, shots were fired in the 6900 block of Pine Ridge, which is essentially at Pine Ridge & Nelson. A female victim was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced deceased. If you have any information regarding this incident, please contact St Louis County Crimes Against Persons at 636-529-8210 or Crimestoppers at 866-371-8477. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim and her family. Please remember your calls and information remain anonymous.

Busy week last week, with several events! First, we participated in the "Slow Down" campaign with the Urban League. The Chief and Detective were out in the community placing several "Slow Down" signs. Next, we unveiled our new "Ready Readers" program at our station. A cool book house was placed outside of the police station so members of the community can share books. Great job to the police department with facilitating these events. Many more events to come!
