DETAILS TAKE TIME
Renovating the Emery Building is a labor of love—and as anyone who’s done this kind of work knows, the details take time. I'm committed to getting it right.
Completed today, the new stained glass work by Peter Ausenhus over the bar is nothing short of extraordinary. Thank you so much for your time and effort to make this vision a reality!
Meanwhile, the original mosaic tile is being carefully repaired, replaced, and restored piece by piece. It’s meticulous work, but it’s what this space deserves.
I truly appreciate everyone’s patience as we bring this historic building to life. I'm way ahead of where I imagined I'd be when I purchased the building.
Art Farm Iowa (a non-profit) remains the priority with a doubling of crowds expected this summer along with new plans that will be announced soon. The vision of having art throughout Worth County is being realized with mural collaborations in Manly and Bolan, and with Dan Bern's Worth County Tractor Tour, June 23-27, involving 5 Worth County towns. This summer also includes working with over a dozen local artists on a wide range of events.
I've been thrilled with the response to Gallery 818 in downtown Northwood. Our last event on April 10 drew 75 people, including people from Phoenix and several groups from the Minneapolis area. It's been wonderful to partner with Jane & John Podgorniak.
And, all the activity on Hotel Winifred (a non-profit) where the first floor build out is being done by Hertel Custom Builders. There is an amazing team on this project. The fundraising efforts to complete the second and third floors are off to a great start. A hotel like this is necessary in Northwood, and we appreciate people's investment in Northwood's future.
Thanks for the continued interest and support!
