At Wednesday's Mayor & Council meeting Mayor McGuire recognized the talents and hard work of Kari Sedano and her art students for creating their wonderful work of art which now hangs in the Council chambers. The painting was completed in honor of America's 250th birthday and unveiled at the Memorial Day ceremony. Great job by all the students and Kari! Kari Sedano

Last night Mayor McGuire collected over 300 items for our local food pantries from the Knights of Columbus, Immaculate Conception Council 9021 on behalf of the Borough of Northvale. The Knights, who serve Northvale, Norwood, Old Tappan and Haworth, far exceeded the goal of 250 items in honor of America's 250th birthday. They are our first organization to acheive the goal this year and we have more to come. If your organization, team or neighborhood is interested in participating please let us know.

Our Summer Wellness Series kicks off Wednesday, June 17 at 5:30pm on the green space in front of the Community Garden. Hosted by Club Pilates Northvale, these free mat classes will run the 1st & 3rd Wednesday of every month all summer!

All levels welcome — just bring a mat, towel, and water. (Weather permitting!)

On Saturday Northvale Recreation held its closing ceremony for baseball and softball with a parade and activities in the park. Congratulations on a terrific season and thank you to all the volunteers who made this season possible.

On Saturday Mayor McGuire and Council Members Bakalian, McMorrow and Fernandez participated in a career fair at Hogan Park organized by Girl Scouts and 8th graders Isabella Kwon and Sofia Watkins. The girls did a fabulous job organizing the event and highlighting careers in health care, pharmacy, pet health and government. Great job girls!

On Saturday, Chodae Community Church held its annual fundraiser golf tournament at Mansion Ridge in Monroe, NY. Proceeds benefit EMS and fire departments for the boroughs of Northvale and Norwood. 126 golfers had a wonderful time and raised much needed funds for our departments. Northvale retained the trophy this year in its competition with Norwood. Thank you to all who participated and sponsored and thank you to the Chodae community.
