Dear Friends and Neighbors:
I am Joe Saunier. I am a concerned parent and lifelong resident of Northvale running for the open Northvale seat on the Northern Valley Regional High School Board of Education.
I ask that you please vote for Joseph M. Saunier for the Northern Valley Board of Education located in Column 1 on your ballot.
I am running for the Northern Valley Regional Board of Education because I believe I can do better for our children. I promise all Northvale families that I will:
Create Transparency & Hold the Board Accountable - I have heard the stories about the lack of accountability and responsiveness of the current board, and I have stood by long enough as the board and administration have ignored the voices of our families and community. I promise to hold the Board accountable on each and every issue and to provide comprehensive responses to your questions.
Provide a Safe, Neutral Environment – The classroom is not a place where politics or indoctrination belong. I promise to emphasize teaching where it belongs – on key academic areas of Mathematics, Sciences, Language Arts, History and the Arts. I promise to work to remove inappropriate content from the curriculum including CRT, SEL, sexualized content and transgender ideology.
Improve Communication between the Board & Residents of Northvale – We need a Board who is engaged with you, listening to your feedback and partnering with you to strive for continuous improvement in our school. This includes supporting teachers to do their best work with our children, listening to/incorporating the input of teachers, families and community members when designing district policies, and holding district leadership accountable.
Be Responsible with Your Tax Dollars – I will analyze, review and assess how every dollar is spent and ensure that the Board is using all resources in the most responsible, efficient and transparent manner.
Enhance Governance - I will work to ensure that the board operates with the highest degree of ethics and integrity and will ensure that governance and compliance standards are adhered to.
