The passing of Dick Knoebel is a tremendous loss for our community and for all who had the privilege of knowing him. Dick devoted his life to building something that became far more than an amusement park he helped create a place where generations of families have made cherished memories and traditions that will last a lifetime.
Through his leadership, vision, and unwavering dedication, Dick played an immeasurable role in shaping not only Knoebels, but our entire region. His commitment to preserving the park’s family values, welcoming atmosphere, and unique character made it a destination known and loved far beyond Northumberland County. At the same time, he never lost sight of the people closest to home. The impact he had on our local economy, the opportunities he created for countless employees, and the pride he brought to our community cannot be overstated.
Those who knew Dick will remember him not only for his accomplishments, but for his humility, kindness, and genuine love for this area. He understood that the true success of Knoebels was measured by the smiles on children’s faces, the traditions shared by families, and the memories that brought people back year after year.
I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to Dick’s family, the entire Knoebel family, and everyone at Knoebels. I am deeply grateful for the extraordinary legacy he leaves behind. His life’s work has enriched our community in countless ways, and his influence will continue to be felt for generations to come.
Dick’s legacy lives on in the joy he brought to millions of visitors and in the lasting impact he made on the place we are proud to call home. He will be greatly missed, fondly remembered, and forever appreciated.
