During the pandemic, when all libraries were closed, we decided to build a free community library, giving new purpose to an old tree stump on our front lawn. We call it The Giving Tree library, and it is officially registered as Charter #120314 https://littlefreelibrary.org/ourmap/

Make a brick challenge! We have too many extra bricks 🧱 lying around our yard, so we will be repurposing them as books to decorate around our library! Feel free to pick up one of the loose plain bricks by The Giving Tree and paint it as your favorite novel!

Come pet our library spider Webster and pick up a new book from our recent stash. We found a special surprise this morning. A sweet neighbor left an adorable quilted heart ornament. Thank you so much for spreading your kindness!

Lots of level 1 and 2 “I can Read” books available today in our library! Stop by Prairie Street and Louise and pick up a few for summer reading!

download the Little Free Library app and check in, leave comments or suggestions, and find favorites in your neighborhood map easily! I highly encourage any bibliophiles to use it, and this way we librarians can be on top of special requests and any issues. Drop us a comment and check in!

Finally got a chance to clean out our library, and our oversupply is exploding! Come on down and pick up a few good books for the week. We have something for all ages!

had a little visitor today! Our neighbor’s adorable daughter stopped by to pick up a book on this overcast day. If you are in the area and need an excuse for a COVID-free pit stop, come on by and pick up as many books as you wish! I will also make sure there are some cute pencils and stickers on the bottom pot for your little readers! Stay dry and safe out there!

It’s a blustery day in Northridge! Finally got a chance to clean out our Little Library and sort through all the treasures we found! Bookmarks can now be found inside the Love pot. Check out some of the winter and snow selections we added in.

We just got a large shipment of great from one of our dear followers , along with some cute bookmarks! These are going into library right now! Thank you so much, Jamie, for your thoughtfulness and beautiful letter. Thank you for loving books as much as we do!
