The Northport Fire Department honors and remembers the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who gave their lives while serving our great nation. We will never forget those military personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

Despite the rain, the members of the Northport Fire Department proudly braved the elements this morning to honor our fallen heroes and pay tribute to their service and sacrifice.

God Bless America! 🇺🇸

We would like to congratulate Ryan Gerow on being elected as the 2nd Assistant Chief of the Northport Fire Department. Ryan is the most recent Captain of Hook & Ladder Co. 1. Ryan has followed in his father’s footsteps. Ryans proud father Artie Gerow was Chief of the Northport Fire Department from 2006-2008. We can also be sure that Ryan’s grandfather Ex-Chief Robert Guinn (1986 -1988) is looking down smiling at Ryans accomplishments. Ryans professionalism and experience will be a great asset to the department and the community. Best of luck Chief. We are looking forward to working with you!

On Sunday afternoon, we were alerted for a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Waterside Ave and Norwood Ave. First Assistant Chief Cross was first on scene and reported one person injured and trapped in their vehicle.

Tower Ladder 2-9-7 arrived shortly after and utilized the Hurst Tools (Jaws of Life) to extricate the occupant. The patient was safely removed, treated, and transported to a local hospital for further care by Northport Fire Dept Ambulance.

Great work by all members involved
