Atmos Energy will be performing routine natural gas maintenance on Monday, June 22, at 14007 Corral City Drive. While this work is taking place outside of Northlake town limits, residents traveling along FM 407 near Corral City may notice activity in the area between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.

During this work, nearby areas may experience increased noise and a temporary sulfur-like (“rotten egg”) odor, which Atmos Energy says is associated with standard maintenance procedures. No service interruptions are expected.

TxDOT has provided notice of upcoming overnight traffic impacts in Denton this weekend.

Weather permitting, all southbound and northbound lanes of I-35E from Oak Street to Bonnie Brae will be closed from 8 p.m. Saturday, June 20 through 9 a.m. Sunday, June 21 as part of ongoing interchange improvements. Frontage roads will remain open during this time.

Additional overnight lane and ramp closures will occur beginning Friday night in preparation for the full closure. Signed detours will be in place. Drivers should expect delays and plan for extra travel time.

Weather permitting, a contractor will return to conduct additional roadway work on Cleveland Gibbs Road this Friday, June 19.

During the project, the northbound lane will be closed from Westbridge Drive to just east of the I-35W bridge, with flaggers on site and one lane remaining open to traffic.

Work is scheduled to occur between 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., though the work date and hours remain subject to change based on weather conditions. Please exercise caution and drive safely through the area.

Officers from Northlake PD will be trading patrol cars for serving trays as they help wait tables, greet guests, and collect donations in support of a great cause.

All proceeds benefit Special Olympics Texas, an organization that empowers athletes of all abilities through sports, inclusion, and community.

Heads up to anyone traveling to or from Denton this weekend: TxDOT has announced an overnight closure of the northbound I-35E off-ramp to Bonnie Brae Street starting at 9 p.m. Friday, June 5, to Saturday, June 6 at 8:00 a.m., weather permitting.

Drivers should also be aware of possible frontage road closures in the area and can expect delays. A signed detour will be in place.
