Every day there is a new scam out there 😡.

We have received numerous calls from residents who received text messages about the circulating parking violation scam. Some of these callers had legitimate parking violations from us, which may have made the scam texts seem real. These scams often demand immediate payment and may contain suspicious links or QR codes.

Your safety is important, and it's completely understandable to be concerned about a message like this. Please remember that legitimate law enforcement agencies and courts do not collect parking fines through text messages. If you receive a message that pressures you for immediate payment or threatens arrest, it is likely a scam. In such cases, it is best to contact your local police department for guidance.

After a house fire today on Hodgdon Road, we were unable to locate one dog. He is a chihuahua with 3 legs and his name is Yeti. If you spot him, please give the police department a call. He is reportedly very friendly!

The other dogs are doing well and no one was injured in the fire. Thank you to the neighbors for their quick response!

Happy Saturday, Northfield! We hope everyone is keeping warm.

As you probably know, we have a large storm arriving around mid afternoon tomorrow and going through Monday evening. Please have your vehicles moved out of the roadway to allow our Highway Department efficiency with snow removal.

We are excited to roll out a “Good Morning” program here in Northfield. This program is designed for elderly, handicapped, or special needs residents who live alone. With this program, the individual who signs up would call our department and simply check in for the “Good Morning” program. If we do not have contact with the person by phone before 11AM, we send an officer to the residence to check the well-being of that individual. If you are interested, or know someone who may be interested in the program, please reach out to the department at 603-286-8982 for all of the details.

Good evening! I apologize that we cannot always update on active investigations in the town, but releasing information prematurely can be detrimental to cases and cause more hazards to the citizens of the town, as well as anyone involved in the case, or assisting in the investigation. With that, we need to thank all of the agencies who assisted us today including, but not limited to, the Franklin Police Department, the Concord Police Department, NH State Police, as well as all of the other agencies who assisted us in the peaceful conclusion to today’s investigation.
